Erika Pirl

A Free lance artist with her main background in dance and movement research. She is currently based in Switzerland and working as a dancer choreographer and teacher, while getting her MA degree at the Valais University for Applied Arts and Sciences ECAV-HES-OS, with the focus on Arts in the Public Sphere (MAPS program). She started dancing at the age of 3 at Academia de Ballet Maria Eugenia Flores, in her Home Town of Tehuacan Puebla.She later continued her dance education at the Goh Ballet Academy and youth Company in Vancouver Canada,2006-2009 as well as in different summer schools abroad where she could study different styles of dance. In 2009 Erika was awarded with First place female solo for classical dance at the Surry Festival B.C, and was accepted to Salzbourg International Ballet Academy with a scholarship, through which she received an invitation to dance with Avant Scene Young Company in Switzerland and Full scholarship to St Pölten Ballet Conservatory Austria, she was also accepted to the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater Grad Program.

Erika is highly enthusiastic about exchanging and meeting with new people, sharing ideas and coming up with new collaborative projects, She is also always happy to share this exchange vibe through teaching, she has been invited to teach movement research and dance workshops in different training centers around the world, such as in Rome(IT),New York (USA), Rio de Janairo(BR) Titusville (USA) Basel (CH) Lausanne (CH) Leuk (CH) Sierre (CH)
